UNSHUTTERED
Group exhibition by The Delaware Contemporary Studio Artists
June 12 - August 23, 2020
OPENING EVENT: Friday, August 7 | 5 - 8 PM
This exhibition reveals new work made by fourteen Delaware Contemporary Studios @ artists reflecting the past three months adapting to the COVID-19 quarantine. These artists have adjusted their artistic practices to work in their homes and with restricted access to their studios—some have experimented with new subjects, media, or processes, some have responded to the psychological consequences of the pandemic, while others have documented the experience of being shuttered. The resulting work is a mixed range of representations from the personal implications of being shuttered during a pandemic to the broader ways the disease has infiltrated every aspect of contemporary life.
