Influenced greatly by the pandemic, time spent at home, and a growing meditation practice, Jenna Lucente is practicing painting. In this series of small oil paintings, Lucente examines her household subjects with patience and presence, letting the paint, and knowledge of the paint, dictate the turn of events on the canvas. Each still life is painted in one sitting, and then repeated, offering an observation and frame of mind as perceived and painted on subsequent days. This is Lucente's most intimate work, as each still life is truly known and understood.

Jenna Lucente is an artist and educator currently living in Delaware and holds a studio at The Delaware Contemporary. Lucente received her BFA from Syracuse University and her MFA at CUNY Queens College. Lucente exhibits her work regionally and also is a commissioned public artist. She is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Salem Community College.
