The Response Gallery is an un-curated, living installation created by local artists, community members, and museum visitors. The Response Gallery grew out of a desire to provide a platform for peaceful expression and community engagement by inviting artists and community members to participate in a gallery take-over through the month of June. This project was designed to be theme free with no predetermined narrative so that participating artists could freely express themselves during these emotionally charged times. The resulting evolution of this installation has been inspiring! A steady flow of participants, starting our first weekend of being open, have filled the gallery with dynamic expressions of all forms.

The dialogue and formation of connections between the participating artists and community members will inform future collaborations, programs, and exhibitions at The Delaware Contemporary. We are committed to maintaining open ears and minds and we truly appreciate the involvement and feedback of our active, present, and engaged community.
