Mia Halton's interactive visual and auditory installation responds to the Ford/Kavanaugh hearings asking what causes the "silenced women to become silenced?" Using text, imagery, and hand-built ceramics, Halton investigates the moral implications stemming from all human encounters. Her work strives to "make sense of the complexities, vagaries, and challenges of being human." Mixing humor and metaphor with drawing and ceramics, Halton creates a visual language descriptive of social constructs that resonate on a deeply personal level, reminding us that creativity and imagination have the potential to transform reality into an aesthetic form.

Halton has exhibited throughout the US, including the Baltimore Museum of Art, Baltimore, MD; Baltimore Clayworks, Baltimore, MD; OK Harris, New York, NY; Gallery K, Washington D.C.; Malton Gallery, Cleveland, OH; and the Creative Alliance, Baltimore, MD. Her work has been included in numerous private and public collections. She was recently awarded the A.I.R. Vallauris in France and a solo exhibition at Stevenson University.
