Ruth Ansel
November 6 - 29, 2020
Opening Reception:
Friday, November 6 | 5 - 8 PM
“My house contains acorns, chestnuts, discarded feathers from the wings of jays, broken sticks with stacks of pancake-like lichen, seedpods from places my children have lived, pressed leaves and ferns, animal bones no longer in use. I am intrigued by things that were not made but grew. The imagery in these egg tempera paintings comes from nature. There is a mysterious visual logic to how things grow.”
Ruth Ansel has an MFA from George Washington University. She has been devoted to exploring the medium of egg tempera painting for nearly forty years. She works in studio 2M at The Delaware Contemporary.
