For fifty years, I lived within several miles of the ocean. The feeling of sand between my toes, the sound of waves lapping at the shore, the taste/smell of salt air, the cries of seagulls, and the relentless ebb and flow of the tides produce a rhythm that mirrors the cycles of being alive: two steps forward and one backward, the “lub dub” of a beating heart, sorrow and joy, youth and old age, love and loss. Ocean and life, always changing.”
