THE ARTIST REGISTRY
The Delaware Contemporary's Artist Registry promotes working artists of our region through exhibitions, residencies, and commissioned projects.
Rosa Leff
Artist in The Delaware Contemporary Artist Registry
"What excited me about it was that you're not just applying for one opportunity. There's not one exhibition and you get it or you don't. It's a chance to make sure that your work is really going to be seen, that curators are going to spend some time learning about who you are."
Josh Hollingsworth
Engagement and Exhibitions Manager
“We want the work that is happening in our region to be the most impactful.”
THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM
The Delaware Contemporary established an artist-in-residence program in 1992 to bring Delaware communities together with contemporary artists. Since then, the museum has engaged with over 75 artists and community partners, to facilitate experiences through a collaborative art making process.
Chase Dougherty
Gretchen Hupfel Curator of Contemporary Art
“We really want to be a platform and a resource for those who need a studio space and provide opportunities for professional development.”
Nicholas Callaway
2021-22 Artist-in-Residence
“The Residency has allowed me a lot of freedom to expand and allow myself to work in ways that I previously would not have.”
THE STUDIOS @
Our 26 artist studio spaces are a place where proactivity, public engagement, diversity of ideas, perspectives, and artistic practice are honored, respected, and achieved.
Hear from Samara Weaver
Studio Artist at The Delaware Contemporary
"Having a studio at The Delaware Contemporary has meant a ton to me. It helped me take my artistic practice to the next level."
