Lauren E. Peters
Peters' work addresses the fluidity and multifaceted nature of identity. Each painting is based on a single photograph, utilizing a variety of clothing and props to switch between various personas. While the costumes may be thought of as disguises, they are created to bring the different realities beneath our "normal" appearance to light.
Lauren E. Peters holds a BA in painting and has been working in the genre of self-portraiture for the past three years. She was awarded the 2018 Delaware Division of the Arts Fellowship for painting in the "Emerging Artist" category.
Karoline Wileczek
Wileczek's current paintings concentrate on grids made of rubber circles, hand placed without strict measure to create what she calls "a wobble and a hum." Each work reveals intuitive influences from the periphery. City architecture, shifts in light, as well as subconscious arrangements in her studio find their way into her work. A back-and-forth responsive approach is made with each painting until its individual manifestation is presented or discovered.
Karoline Wileczek holds a BFA from Tyler School of Art and an MFA from the University of Minnesota. She has also taught as an adjunct professor and reached level two in Tai Chi.
