The word “horizon” suggests many things.

The expansiveness of a horizon could suggest freedom, openness, expanding possibilities.

Or it could suggest barrenness and sterility, a frightening void, the unforeseeable.

Maybe the beauty of a horizon resides in the combination of all these things, all the ambiguity at the junction of the known and the unknown.

Anne Oldach emerges from the rich traditions of representational art of the Brandywine Valley. The natural world offers the inspiration to dig deep into the secrets of life, enticing the artist's instinct to respond. The landscape envelops us with a magic mantle full of stories, in the breath of the trees, the sparkle off of the water, the rotation of the skies. There, Oldach finds a home to settle in, longing to respond.
